They do, however, have a "ceremony" signifying their transition from citizen to soldier. t his is usually Friday-Sunday, They also do NOT have a graduation at the end of BCT. If your trainee is Cav Scout or Tanker, at the end of the 9 weeks of BCT, you will also have Family Weekend. At the end of 22 weeks of training there will be a Turning Blue ceremony on the day before Graduation, after which you will get to visit with your soldier for the remainder of the day. At the end of this weekend your Soldier will begin the AIT portion of training. Most Infantry companies only do Saturday and Sunday, but there are some that do Friday also. Some commander letters will say Family Day, but it is for the weekend. It represents the transition from citizen to soldier. Please note that there is NO graduation ceremony at the end of the BCT portion of OSUT. If your trainee is Infantry, at the end of the 9 weeks of BCT, you will have the opportunity for Family Weekend. The only true way to know this information, is by your Commander letter and your trainee or your company Facebook page. Pick up and return times are different for each company. There are some things that are universal, like the length of time for BCT (9 weeks), but most things are done on a company by company basis. Each company/troop does things differently.
