Remove spaces Komodo Edit can remove unused white spaces. Be sure that it's checked and that the value is set to 80. Here you'll see the option for 'Draw the edge line column'. Search in the Preferences window for 'Smart Editing'. So we can mark this particular question as answered. Komodo Edit is not able to limit the comment length but it can set a line on the 80th char. Then, when I created this particular HTML file just a couple days ago, it inherited that (incorrect) setting. Chocolatey integrates w/SCCM, Puppet, Chef, etc. However, either when I upgraded to version 12 or more recently when I used that darn State Tool and it appeared to wipe out my settings, at that point my general setting was switched back to “Character”, unbeknownst to me. Chocolatey is software management automation for Windows that wraps installers, executables, zips, and scripts into compiled packages. So here’s what I think happened: Ever since I started using Komodo, back with version 11, I had it set to “Word”, and thus every time I created a new file, that file inherited the general setting as part of its file-specific setting. Sure enough, for that specific HTML file that I was looking at, the file-specific value was set to “Character”. But then, after reading your reply just now, I remembered that there are file-specific settings – something I sometimes forget because this is the first IDE I’ve worked with that has that feature. But changing it back to “Word” this time, had no effect upon the text. “Wrap long lines by” was set to “Character”, which seemed odd to me because when I first installed Komodo and went through all of its settings, one of the first things I did was to change that to “Word”. I should have mentioned in my previous post that upon noticing the problem, the first thing I did was to check those settings. Below is a list of the best free text editors. It's called TextEdit on Macs and Notepad on Windows, but neither are quite as advanced as some of the third-party applications available today. How can I stop Komodo from doing this? I have looked through the preferences and have not found any setting that appears applicable to this problem. Christine Baker Tweet Share Email Computers come pre-installed with a program that can open and edit text files. Please see the screenshot for an example. Sometime during the past few months, perhaps when I upgraded to version 12, Komodo is no longer keeping that “wrapped word” in one piece, but instead breaking it in order to fit the maximum number of non-blank characters on the first line, and then starting the second line with the leftover characters of that wrapped word. As long as none of the words themselves were split, then everything was okay. My primary concern with moving to a new editor was that I use extended Unicode characters quite often. This typically would result in a few blank spaces at. Its worst bug is that it adds a random number of extra spaces to the end when you paste to the end of a line just annoying enough to motivate me to move to a more modern editor under current development. At the end of each such line, whatever word does not have enough room to stay on that same line, would simply be wrapped to the next line, which would begin with that word. This typically would result in a few blank spaces at the end of the first line, but that was never a problem. For most of the time that I have been using Komodo IDE, it always did a good job of wrapping the words of any line that exceeded the maximum width of the Komodo window. | + caller (object) JS frame :: chrome://komodo/content/views.js :: most of the time that I have been using Komodo IDE, it always did a good job of wrapping the words of any line that exceeded the maximum width of the Komodo window. | + name (string) 'viewManager.prototype._newViewFromURI' | + filename (string) 'chrome://komodo/content/views.js' + location (object) JS frame :: chrome://komodo/content/views.js :: viewManager.prototype._newViewFromURI :: line 602 + filename (string) 'chrome://komodo/content/views.js' + message (string) 'Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) ' " nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://komodo/content/views.js :: viewManager.prototype._newViewFromURI :: line 602" data: no] KoFTPConnection: FTP do_readFile ERROR: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binaryĮRROR:xpcom:Unhandled exception calling 'int8 * read(in int32, optional out uint32, out retval Array) 'įile "C:\Program Files (x86)\ActiveState Komodo Edit 10\lib\mozilla\python\xpcom\server\policy.py", line 303, in _CallMethod_įile "C:\Program Files (x86)\ActiveState Komodo Edit 10\lib\mozilla\python\komodo\URIlib.py", line 942, in read
